Overview
This Conger Trace from WSB Tackle consists of a strong size 8/0 hook attached to a 50cm (20 inch) length of heavy-duty 200lb monofilament. A strong size 4/0 crane swivel is attached to the other end of the line, with heavy-duty crimps used to secure both the hook and swivel in place.
This trace is designed for anglers fishing for the largest species found in UK waters. This includes conger eels but also skate and shark species such as tope. All of these species have sharp teeth or abrasive skin which can easily snap weaker monofilament line making the use of traces such as this necessary.
