artoline Limited, first established in 1876, is Europe’s leading manufacturer of decorating sundries for the home improvement industry. Products include White Spirit and paint solvents, fillers, adhesives, sealants, sugar soaps, paint strippers, garden wood protectors, paraffin, BBQ lighting fluid and lantern oils, etc.

Bartoline acquired Modus Products, a wallcovering adhesive and filler manufacturer, in 1999 which enabled significant expansion into a wider array of decorating sundries supporting significant growth. This growth was furthered with a major investment in a £5m liquid manufacturing plant resulting in the safest and most modern factory in Europe for packing solvents and associated products.

New premises were also acquired providing additional capacity underpinning further expansion resulting in a fivefold increase in sales within the UK. The increase in capacity has also allowed expansion for exports which are developing at an even faster rate.

Products are manufactured and distributed extensively through retail, wholesale and trade outlets, throughout the United Kingdom and an ever-expanding number of countries overseas.
